i have some questions yet i find myself too afraid to seek answers
dear god not the tumbleweeds
completely justified response if you haven’t encountered tumbleweeds firsthand (because most of us are only familiar with the loony tunes version) but in reality….
so the thing about tumbleweeds is they are in fact incredibly invasive. they cause millions of dollars of damage every year, and create serious traffic accidents and agricultural disruption. (they’re also highly flammable, because of course they are.) the town in question was piled so deep, residents had to call 911 after being trapped in their homes. bulldozers and emergency workers had to be brought. it was wild.
tumbleweeds are also heavier than they look–they’re made of wood after all. and they’re big (most varieties top out at 4 feet, but there are larger ones that can reach up to 6 feet across. you know how the Emu War sounds absurd and fictional until you realize emus are 6 solid feet of clawed, beaked, avian dinosauric FUCK YOU? yeah, this is like that
this new reblog chart feature is FASCINATING and it is also highlighting how much people on this website fail gifmakers and other content creators. you NEED to start reblogging gifsets and art if you want this site to continue functioning and being a place content creators WANT to be on. look at this
there are almost NO reblog chains!! the majority of reblogs are directly from me, and then it just. ends. the like to reblog ratio is almost 1:4.
this is why posts die. this is why artists have left, this is why gifmakers are giving up. this is killing tumblr.
reblogging is the ENTIRE POINT of this website, and you can’t just like something and move on and expect gif/editmakers and artists to continue putting in the effort to make content FOR YOU.

As someone who has spent the last several years poor, I can’t even begin to explain what it means to me to have a FUCKING COMMA in my bank account balance.
So, with any luck at all, I’ll be travelling to New York City next year! I’ve wanted to go for ages, I don’t live all that far away but don’t want to drive there and then have to pay for parking.
Mostly, I’m wondering how do I go and not look like a clueless, ignorant tourist! I’ve got a tentative itinerary worked out, subject to change of course, but it’s basically, ‘find a decent hotel near Port Authority, maybe see a show, take in the Met or MoMA, have some good food’. And I kinda want to take the train up to Brooklyn, see the Bridge and maybe go to the big Flea Market. There’s too much to see and do for me to accomplish it all in only three days and on a limited budget. That said, I’d love some suggestions on how I can both stick to my budget, and have a good time.
